The Fallen Tree

September 17, 2006

A quiet and pleasant trip to the mall (Santa Clara Valley Vair) this past weekend turned into something else when a tree fell right in front of us in the parking lot. We stopped just in time. Luckily, I was going slow (people entering and exiting right near a mall entrance) and did not have to stop short. One more second and we would have been right under it.

The photo below shows how close the tree landed in front of us. I stopped the car while it was still falling and only a few leaves actually touched the front of the car.

I wasn’t so lucky earlier this year.

That happened right down the street from your old house in fact!
